I have always loved languages. Speaking three fluently, I wanted to learn a new one that would enable me to travel to another country and with the aid of language enjoy the culture more. I also wish to travel somewhere different, somewhere I have not been, somewhere I can't go in a two hour drive, which ruled out many places and languages I had either already studied or visited.

I was introduced to anime my Sophmore year and want to eventually do away with the need for subtitles. I loved the art and reading the manga which my friend left me.

One of my aunts is Japanese and I've always loved listening to her speak and watch her cook. We also have close friends in Japan and my grandmother has for as long as I can remember loved asian art.
